Please Read Folks

Hokay, so basically I got caught up in midterm hell and had to put off this explanation. Anywho, here it is:

I had been planning on taking down all my artstuffs when I got home for summer so I could watermark all my work. I took everything down earlier than planned on a gigantic whim with more than a little help from my bitterness towards DeviantArt and that whole orphan works bill madness (which more or less reminded me that I needed to watermark my stuff).

DA pissed me off with that ridiculous whore your art out to Square Enix contest and that's pretty much that. Way to go dA.

Now the orphan works bill concerns me. I was freaking out reading about all this shit before the bill came out and had decided to calm the hell down until I actually was able to read the Senate and House Orphan Works bills for 2008. Now they are out. And I am still concerned. Much more in fact. There is a certain vagueness about the definition of a reasonable search for a copyright owner that has me worried. Plus the whole reasonable compensation bit sounds a bit off but whatever. Add the vagueness surrounding the registries (this is more of problem with me) and it amounts to a 'oh holy hell this is shit oh please Thor please stop this madness' conclusion. There are too many flaws in both bills for me to accept either one. The Senate bill is still committee as far as I know but the House version seemed to have made it through unanimously today (I'm not totally sure though). Either way, both bills are somewhat different and those differences will need to be dealt with before becoming law. It also helps that this Congressional session is about to end so I'd predict that the orphans works bills won't make it in 2008. But I'd expect to see it reappear during the following session. Oi vey...

On a happier note, I have a new dA account (another beautiful whim but I really wanted a new name). I wanted to leave but dA has the best setup for art and I returned with a sigh (plus I'd be lurking about seeing what all my pals were up to anyways). You win this time dA!

So go to :iconelseaes: to find me from now on. I have a big project planned for the summer that will be appearing on dA if I don't end up using another site for it.

All Artwork Removed

I've decided to take down all my art, with the exception of my animations, as I no longer have the original files for those. For people who I've specifically made art for and are unable to have original copies, I'll find a way to send the file to you soon.

I'll try to explain myself better later. There are multiple reasons for doing all this but I'll have to really sit down to thoroughly explain myself within the next few days.

So how's everyone doing?

I'm doing swell. Last week I found a letter and a postcard. One was from Nac and the other was from Marion.

I miss them. I hope to keep in touch with everyone when they go to college. One thing I really regret is not staying in contact with my two good friends. I wonder how they are in Thailand and in France...

I'm scheduled for two 40 hour weeks in a row at the cleaner's and my friends start leaving for college soon. That's sad but part of life. I'm really looking forward to fall quarter but OSU is always the last to start. Pshaw.

I've been writing a ton lately. I keep going to random prompt generators and make short stories. Actually, I usually end up ignoring most of the prompt. Ah well. One story is extremely sad, one is random and insane, and one is a little uplifting. Anyways, this all means that my writing muse has finally returned to me! Hooha! It's been gone for months! Oh how I have missed it!

So I've been pretty busy lately. I had Orientation at OSU and it was sweet what with the whole we couldn't go into our language testing building due to a bomb threat, that random dust storm next to the old Union building, and the rain. It really was fun. A few of us found our way into the Shoe and it was amazing because we were the only three in the whole stadium.

Sadly, the endzones are friggin' red. Not scarlet. Red. Wisconsin red, even. It's horrible. We are scarlet and gray, not red. Oh well. You non-Buckeyes wouldn't understand.

I can't wait to go to OSU. It's perfect. My classes are scheduled and I already have 25 credit hours before I've even started. Excellent.

It seems I have yet another new cousin. Her name is Julie Anne and she joins the ranks with Reese from California and Isabella Rose from up north. They are all so cute! I get to see Bella and Julie next weekend (hopefully). The oldest is only a few months old.

So how's life everyone?

So I graduated high school. It was swell.

Since then I have declined a job as a weapons dealer (not kidding), helped put out a dumpster fire (some little asshat went to town with dumpster fires in that area), helped create a Breakfast Ball, and finally caved in to join Facebook.

Actually, that was just this weekend.

What a whirlwind, man.

I'll leave with this awesome joke:

Julie Ho, Sarz, and Lin-z (yours truly) are discussing the great dumpster fire of '07 at Panera.

Julie Ho: And the next day when I went to work there were eight crows sitting on the dumpster.

Lin-z: Why were you counting crows?

Julie Ho: I was not counting crows! It was just an estimate!

Lin-z: Haha. Estimating crows!

Julie Ho and Sarz: Hahaha! Oh, the laughter!

Lin-z: That sounds like a tribute band...

(Counting Crows is a band, yo...)

WHAT A TERRIBLE JOKE.
